The guy was actually wanting 125K.

With a repop vin tag I would not even want to pay 40K.

Scary with that vin tag.

That's something I would expect Barry to report to the feds.
Then that car will be taken away.  Maybe.

So, this is what I got from Barry Washington at the Hamtrack registry.

Hi Josh,
It appears to have a Chrysler issued replacement VIN tag, they had a program for it in the mid-1980s or 1990s. I have only seen one other one before & it was issued after the car was stolen, stripped of its VIN & then recovered later.

Barry

Very interesting.  Learn something new all the time.  I have asked for more details on the program. I'll let yal know when I hear back from old Barry.

Not as scary as I thought apparently.

Honestly, since Barry has informed me that there was a program from chrysler corporation that replaced vin tags I am not so afraid of the car.

I had no idea there was a program like that.

This being said, I would value the car around 55K.
If the fender tag appears anyway.

Definately not worth more then $40k. I'm thinking more like $35k.

How Bad Do You Want It.
I would do a title search on the AAR. If you decide to purchase it, deduct the cost from the purchase price.
Without a build sheet or vin tags I wouldn't purchase.
It had to be repainted.  The stripe would be worn, especially the AAR emblem on the quarter panels.
Maybe the front was wrecked and the front support was replaced,
Under the hood the inspection holes should be black. Not body paint.

Is the radiator correct?
Cowl hood weather strip not original.
I would say most AAR's had a standard dash not Rallye.
The Rallye dash is not correct.... Missing barracuda emblem on dash. Rivits not correct for dash vin tag.
I don't see a day/night mirror. It does have power steerng,  correct looking master cylinder, 3 speed wipers but it is black, duel mirrors..
Cuda Hunter checked the engine said it is numbers matching.  That is most important matching the vin and motor. Does it have the correct heads,
with the adjustable rocker arms?
AAR's are selling between 50 to 85 thousand.  If this AAR was correct 75 would be acceptable with that color.

The car has a few things that would need to be fixed. In the trunk the covers for the shocks have been painted body color, the master cylinder should be painted black, with all the other things that people have pointed out the car is not a 75K car, I watch AARs on E bay all the time and I know that isn't always the best indicator of cars value. There was a TX9 AAR  automatic with white interior that sold for $66,990. There are only 27 known TX9 AARs. I don't think a green AAR that has as many issues as this one (not huge fixes) is worth 75K. I'm no expert by any means.
