Switched power source
« on: September 30, 2012 - 07:09:11 PM »
I need switch power, in the start and run positions, for my electric fuel pump and MSD coil, where is the best place to get this?
I would like to tap into the fuse block, if possible.

From whatever source you get power only use it to activate a solenoid.  Get the power for your pump off the starter relay terminal.  This will help keep load off the bulkhead connections which are weak to start with.

Yes, I am running the 12 volt power from the starter relay to a relay in the trunk, I also need to run a swithced power to the relay as well.

Neil, I tied those together to run the MSD. Do you think I could also tap into those to run a switch to the relay for the electric pump?

Sure , the load to switch a relay is minimal
