RT scoop inserts
« on: October 02, 2012 - 11:49:02 PM »
I got some new metal inserts for my 1970 RT hood and they are unfinished metal.  These are the smaller plates that fit vertically inside the scoop.

I just realized I don't know if they should be installed as-is or painted black, matte, glossy?  Also not sure of the mounting hardware.  Any suggestions appreciated.  Especially pics!  :2thumbs:

All the ones I have seen have been matte black.

I need a pair so I'm interested in the answers on paint and especially fasteners.  Are the fasteners painted as well?

Where did you get your metal inserts, and how well do they fit?

Dale's Cuda Shop sells the inserts.  I think they are only $15 a pair.  I don't know how they fit.

Matte black is correct for the inserts and screws.  I used SEM Trim Black on mine.
