Qtr side scoops
« on: October 04, 2012 - 05:07:25 PM »
Is there a gasket that goes in between the qtr and the side scoops on the 71 Challenger? Or do you just bolt it.  The 2 hood inserts had a small foam gasket/seal. What is everyone using as a replacment

There is a gasket. I have the 71 scoops on my car. From my recollection it was nothing more than a piece of thin plastic. If you can't find any, I imagine it wouldn't be too difficult to make your own set.

Awesome! Thank you! One more question answered and solved. Jims auto parts offer a body gasket kit http://www.jimsautoparts.com/body_gasket_kits.htm but doesn't mention exactly all the parts. I suppose I'll need a few others too. So I'll give a shout over there. If not the ebay link will do the trick.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH JIMS!!!

Do a search on them and you will find that no one is happy with them.  There are plenty of good venders with the same parts.  Contact Dave at Roseville.  He's a sponcer here.  He can get you what you need.

Just trying to help you avoid a bad experience.

Ok good call. I had ordered from Jims a few years ago because of here and had no issues but I guess things change. Thanks for the heads up. :2thumbs:
