Challenger Seat questions.....
« on: February 25, 2005 - 04:54:17 PM »
Can anyone tell me what year this seat bottom came off??? The top of the seat appears to be a 70 challenger passenger (has the lock on the left), the bottom of the seat has no latch to lock into and it has metal stops....I have no idea what it came off, but can it be adapted to be a 70-71 style and if so, who makes the parts to do it??? Also, this seat needs to be a Driver seat.....can a passenger seat be converted to a drivers???? any help will be appreciated.

I don't know what car that seat is from. It almost looks like the posts are the lock for the seat back. If you take it apart you might find that they can be removed. I am in the process of converting a passenger seat to a driver's seat. The frames are identical and have the connections on the frame for eaither a driver or passenger seat.

The plastic seat back appears to be removed so i'll guess 70 or 71 ::)

Yeah the back is a 70, the bottom is what my problem is. I ripped the bottom apart and the frame only had the 4 rows of springs connected to it and the foam had reinforcements in it, so I know it isnt a 70-71. In any matter, it has no value to me because one of the springs is broken and I dont feel that its worth rebuilding, so now the search is on for a replacement seat. Thankyou for you input

You don't have to stick to a challenger seat frame for replacement. The charger and as I understand the dart all used the same frame.
