Hey guys, quick question,
My 73 chally has white smoke that comes out the tailpipe. I drive it every week, and it runs like a top, plenty of power- so I wouldn't think its a blown head gasket. The engine has been rebuilt and it probably has less than 1300 miles on it. Could it be the rings not seated? But again, plenty of power, runs great. It seems to come out of both tailpipes when I start it up. It fades away as the motor warms up, but then when I drive it, it starts again. When I drive it, it seems to come out the passenger side the most, but still comes out the drivers side as well. It smokes the most when I go down hill, when I let off the gas. When I get back on the gas, it seems to stop. And after I level off after going down that hill, you can see some of the smoke in the interior of the car when you're driving. Going up hill doesn't seem to make it smoke either. So idk, it doesn't affect how it runs.....oh btw, I have flowmasters at the back, behind the valance. No resonators or anything, just flowmasters at the back. I was thinking it could be water steaming off in the muffler, but looks like it would stop after a while. I'm running straight water right now as well. Oil doesn't look milky to me.
