Got some good news guys on crate motors
« on: October 10, 2012 - 01:26:22 AM »
I have been talking back and forth with Ralph Gilles on twitter..Been kind of upset that they canceled the 6.1 and the 5.7..at first he tried to sell me on the 6.4 and I told him they are too high..so I showed him where GM and Ford had 400 hp motors around the price of a 6.1 so he told me he would find out for me..Well tonight he sent me back a tweet saying this November they are launching new 5.7 hemi(eagle) and 6.4 crate motors to target that market..so we have something coming..:)

I wonder what a 5.7 eagle is?

The 6.4 is probably based off of the current 6.4 block in production.  :dunno:

In Chrysler Speke a Nov release (SEMA) you'll have a part number in 6 month and a motor in time for next year.

I don't know why but I like Ralph, maybe cause he is a real car guy. So I don't want to be a Debbie downer but it was last November they released this

Which as far as I know they never even made. But I will keep my hopes up.

I seen that 6.4 but there is a lot of trial and error into messing with one of them..the production 6.4 and the crate 6.4 are not the same..and that's a production 6.4 that's why it hasn't sold

I thought he was using the slightly older 540 hp version like this one

But I could be wrong

The eagle and apache are the names of redesigned cylinder heads for the 5.7 and 6.1/4 engines. They flow about 335/360 cfm at .6 lift.
