InLine tube gave a brief reply late Friday in the day.. their "engineer" claims they are correct with the product they offer, as they say they take old products off old cars to reverse-engineer and determine dimensions.  I calmly dispute this issue with them as my pictures prove they are in error... even the partial half-picture showing the ~7.25" length of the S-Hook... and that fact that the Cuda and challenger have a 2" wheel base difference (made in the floor lengths, as well as the driveshaft length)... thus, the Challenger should be 4" total longer than the Cuda (Cuda at 85" plus the 4".. 2+2.. of the Challenger = ~89" for Challengers.

They would not comment on the picture of the 7" S-Hook which I sent them (thanks KB) or the actual pics of my own showing the differences in new vs old/original cable lengths.   So, the tech rep said he'd re-discuss with his engineer.. possibly, he said, they could make me an special length cable......... I will re-discuss early tis coming week and hopefullt resolve.    I firmly believe they are not correct with the 6.25" overall length of their S-Hook (the ONLY such S-hook they offer, as I was told by the rep), as well as the equalizer cable lenghts between the Cuda and, in my case of concern here... for the Challenger.

I've contacted another S-hook supplier found on the internet... they were willing to pull one out of stock and tell me the dimension... this monday I should know that dimension from another source.. perhaps it'll match thje 7" length?  Or else, as they told me, they may actually be purchsing their parts from ILT.

Also, my long-rod adjustment was originally at about 3.5" turned into the threading, so... the cable HAS to be longer that 86" to allow some adjustment.

I'll let all of you know what comes of this... most appreciated for all of your help.

Mitch

If you can get them to make you a custom length intermediate cable, I need one too.  That will save me the hastle of making one myself.  I also need one that's 4 inches longer.

BURDAR -- Do you recall who the supplier and/or manufacturer was that you previously bought the cable from?  I'm curious if it was also InLine Tube... or else, ILT may be supplying other distributors, as well.

Also, the tech rep told me that they have never had anyone make a claim against the equalizer cable length for a Challenger, nor about the length of the S-Hook.... and neither about the size of their cable end balls not fitting properly into the OE connector holes without drilling them larger.

I'm still waiting to hear back from InLine Tube today (Monday).

My kit is from Fine Lines.  I called Fine Lines and they get them from The Right Stuff.  I called The Right Stuff and they said they could NOT make me a custom length intermediate cable.  They said something must be wrong with their kit and to return it to Fine Lines for a refund.

I contacted Inline Tube and they gave me the cable lengths in their 71-74 Challenger kit.  Those lengths still did not match my original cable lengths.

I need to measure the intermediate cable that Fine Lines sold me.  I do remember that it was 2-3" short.  If I had a cable made that was 4" longer, that would allow me to get everything hooked up AND have some adjustment.  I believe I was 2-3" short while using the original S-hook.  Using the new hook in the kit would have been even shorter.

I'll have to work on this again in the winter.  I moved on to other things since I wasn't getting anywhere with the issue.  I think I figured out a safe way to make my own cable but don't want to go through the hastle if I don't have to.

Sure seems like a lot of trouble for something that still might hang down and rip off loading on a trailer? Why not use the 70 set up? ( If that's what mine is?) Goes straight back, nothing hanging down etc... ?
