It is a trade off taller intake = smaller air cleaner , better question what intake best suits you engine build ?

Haven't got that far yet..  so far I have a 440 with a 727 out of a 1975 pickup ...I picked up a set of BME rods I would like to use.. as far as the build i would like a big chunky cam. was thinking about steath heads? Intake maybe a team g
or ? .. any help sorting this stuff out would be great...  i was given the option of picking up a set of 915 or 906 heads today my choice for $200 the 915 have about 500 miles on them...

Tons of different build options on here.  There is also a section of proven builds separated by bb/sb/Hemi.  Check it out, good place to start.

My choice will always be the 915 heads
Team G is OK , I would use the Mopar M1 over it though  , for a lower intake that fits under hood the Street Dom is awesome , everything needs to match though so we need to figure out what RPM you want to make power then get a cam & intake to work with that .

Here is the deal.. and I might sound kinda like a child he but here it goes..
a friend of mine has this 67 ford fairlane with a 351w Keith black pistons eddy rpm heads and eddy rpm cam
hooker headers holley 750 carb  and 410 or 411 gears  ... the car runs like a bat out of hell and I want to be able to dust him .. not by a little but really whip his ass.. LOL

So you want a stock 440 then
  I beat up a "Fast"  69 stang with a roller cam 351 using a smog 400 , [1 cylinder only had 17 psi compression !!] in a 69 Dart !! while I didn't win , I also didn't lose , we tied 3 races in a row but if I had had all 8 cylinders he would have been toast !!
So I assume this will be a street car , so you want a long flat powerband with a lot of torque , I would recommend a 512 ci stroker build with a powrband 2500 - 6500 ish this way you can drive it anywhere & still kick butt

Edelbrock heads and Stealth heads are both pretty good.  Keep in mind, you should go through the hardware and have the Stealth heads inspected before you install them.

A better, more expensive route is Indy heads.  They have raised exhaust ports, so not everything is quite as simple as the Edelbrock/Stealth route.
mmmmm.... Mopar.... *drool*

I feel the Stealth are as good for less $$ spent over the eddy , I also agree the indy are more $$ but worth it

Have you thought about sealing the aircleaner to the underside of the hood with foam like they did with the AAR cars running that hood?  If you run a six pack you could possibly use a stock or reproduction AAR air cleaner (not sure if carb height is the same on a 340 & a 440 six pack, anyone?).  That would look totally cool and the 'fresh air' aspect of the hood wouldn't be wasted.  That is my favorite Cuda hood by the way.  If I ever decide to go away from a 'stock' appearance I'm getting one, too.

That's more or less what I did , but with a single 4bbl. I got the custom base from here....

And your T/A hood is my favorite Challenger hood.  I like them more than the shakers because they just stand out more and fit the cars perfectly.  If mine was a 70 I'd do an AAR clone in a heart beat, but I'm not as sure about a 73 AAR Cuda!
