Car is numbers matching and other than trunk pan,is original Mopar sheetmetal.Had been hit in the side 25+ years ago so the drivers door had been replaced and a section replaced right behind the door.No repops back then.
As I have posted before, the orange interior had been replaced with black years ago including the dash pad.No dash VIN.Has been titled in Washington state and Nevada no problem.

That is cool!!  I did not know that was what that code was for... mine was B11 so it must have been November 11, 1969.

Hey d21, that is a fairly early LA build; did it have the little V8 emblems on the fenders?

When I bought the car originally in 1987,it had been repainted and badged as an R/T.There were 2 holes where I removed the R/T emblems.
I had the holes for the Challenger and V8 emblems welded up when the body work was done.
I do not know if it is an LA thing but there was no callout for the rear axle package on the fender tag.Mine has the 3.91 Sure Grip.

Nice fine. Congratulations on your new project. I bought a A66 car back in the early 90's and restored it. It was originally a FC7 car with a White interior and bumble bee white stripe. The original 340 was gone so I picked up a 70 340 and rebuilt it along with the 4-speed and changed up the color combo.. I did a EV2 with a black vinyl top and black gut with a black longitudinal stripe. Awesome color combo. My car was built July 8th 1970. Production stopped July 30th. It was the last A66 car built on record with Galen back then. He said he had a Hemi car and two 440-six pack cars with later dates but I was the last 340 car. I will dig up some old photos and post them along with the fender tag.
Enjoy

Here is my A-66. I am screwing it up with a shaker and 528 Hemi but I am also restoring the original powertrain and I'll be able to make it totally stock in a weekend if I see fit.

I have located my original Invoice for the Challenger I bought in 1970.......did not realize that it was special......A66..........Vin JH23-HOB-182678......a pic of the invoice attached.........Mine had bench seat with a CAR and auto on the column.  Wish I could find it and get it back...........  Also at the dealership.....it had been on display at some event and it had red wheels and dog dish caps.  I did not see the trim rings and at that time did not like the plain wheels.  They had another Challenger there with the wire wheel covers and we had them switch. Went fromF60 15 to  F70 14...  And they put the red wheels on a Green Challenger...... :roflsmiley:  Did not realize that was a part of the performance package......... :faint: Now I do.............Oh for hind site..........
