Feedback On Sequential Tail Light Kits
« on: October 16, 2012 - 12:50:06 PM »
Hi All,

I want to add sequential tail lights to my new 2012 Challenger R/T.  I'm looking at the WebElectric kit and it seems to be the best one out there.  I really don't want to cut any wires and this kit looks to be truly plug and play.

Does anyone here have any feedback positive or negative on this kit?

Is there another kit I should look at?

Your input is much appreciated.

Go for it!    :jumping:

It probably took me a couple of hours to install, but it truly was plug and play. Removing the center part of the tail lights from the trunk lid was the only time I had to use colorful language.    :swear:

You are replacing the stock wiring harness with theirs. That's about it.

Thank MEK!  I always appreciate your insights.  I will go ahead with this and I am sure I likewise have plenty of opportunities to practice my command of the French language :)

Mike how's your LED kit holding up on your 70 Challenger? So far so good? Mine is ok so far , just that one burnt out diode that cost me $.010 to fix!

Brad,

I thought of you a few weeks back when I took the car to work. I go to work in the dark, so I started it and made sure all tail lights function as they should. I got to say, they look GREAT in the dark.   :2thumbs:   So yeah, no problems on my end.

Ok, my kit just arrived in the mail.  Any tips or tricks you'd offer to me in removing either the fender taillight or the trunk taillight?  It looks like I need to set aside a good chunk of a weekend afternoon to do this right and carefully.

The fender tail lights are easy. Just get behind the trunk lining,(remove a couple of plastic plugs with needle nose pliers, or a flat blade screw driver), and it's 2 big wing nuts that you can turn by hand to get the tail light bucket out. I think it's two..

The center section is another thing. You'll need a small Allen key set to get at the silly small screws at either end. Did they send you instructions?
After that, I believe there were 4 wing nuts to remove the center section.

Yes, I do have instructions and I know it will still be a challenging, at least for me.  Thanks for the tips.

Final update: I installed the webelectric kit over the weekend and it works/looks great!  Going slowly and carefully, it took me about 3 hours in total to finish.  The best part is that I didn't break anything in the process and I only had to use 2 curse words!

Thanks all for your feedback and help.
