Wiper Motor question

I have a wiper motor that will not return to the "park" position when switch is turned off.   Is this a motor problem, switch problem or just a wiring problem in your opinions?  Thanks in advance for your help.

This has come up from time to time, so if you do a search here, you might find something.

Off the top of my head, it could be the switch isn't grounded, or a wiper motor problem.

From what I remember if you apply 12v to the blue wire on the wiper motor it should return to the park position. And I think the problem is in the motor, been a long so don't quote me on the motor. The blue wire I do remember for sure.

 the blue wire should have power any time the switch is off , this will reverse the motor & park the wipers , once parked there is a switch in the motor to turn it off even though the blue wire still has power . Kim @ Passion 4 Mopars is who I recommend to fix the motor .

If it's a 3speed motor make sure it's a 3speed switch with properly grounded motor and switch.
Same with 2speed motor and switch.


If it parks high up on the windshield, there's been a switch of motor, and your wiperarm and crank that connects rotor to motor is wrong.

The problem might also be the linkage. The bushings wear with time, (getting stiffer), making your motor turning slowly.

Good info/question as mine does the same thing. It parks abour 2" from the correct position. Hasen't been a problem as the car rarely sees rain anyhow.
