New 73 Barracuda in Socal
« on: October 17, 2012 - 05:16:00 PM »
Hi All,
Just got a 73 Barracuda. Have always loved the e-bodies and very excited to have one in the garage. Already having some awesome issues so I'm looking forward to learning from the adventures the members here have already had.
   Thanks
Chris

Surf Michaels,
Welcome  :sadwavey:  :sadwavey:
That’s one darn good looking Cuda
My first Cuda was a ’73, pretty much like yours.
The blue paint, white vinyl roof, and blue interior
I had the stock longitudional stripe and no wing.
I like the wing painted white  :cooldancing:
Again, welocome

Great looking Barracuda. I typically don't care for a white top, or vinyl in general, but yours is a real eye catcher. The blue is perfect. Mind if I ask what you paid for her?

Thanks for all the feedback.
I've added some more photos and here are the details on the car.
73 Barracuda cloned out to be a Cuda, originally a 318 car but has had a 340 since the late 80's.
Slapstick auto, wearing the original true blue metallic with what looks like clear coat layered over it.
White Top is original also but the wing isn't although I totally love it. Interior is redone and the dash as you can see is not original.
Rims are Chip Foose and the car has an insane stereo in it. Apparently the last owner had a stereo shop and put his full line of gear in it. I've never gotten the volume up past 30% and I thought I would go deaf at that volume. it may eventually have to go... the only sound I need is engine.
I got the car for what I thought and still think is a steal at 12k.
I'm not into numbers matching or all original restorations, things like brakes and steering will be upgraded so the car performances as good as it looks but I intend to keep the exterior looking as stock (cuda) as possible.
I'll be looking through everything here for inspiration so thanks ahead of time.
