Is that inner cap just a generic replacement or is it application specific? Any idea of where is the best place to locate one? Price? My sons bought me the same set-up for my 74 and I hadn't twigged to the need for the inner cap until I read this thread myself.  ???

Keep in mind when looking for a gas cap that there is vented, non vented, CA emmissions or not...
4 different caps I believe. The lugs I know for sure come in 2 different sizes for a 70 depending on if it's a CA car.

The cap in the picture is just a generic one from a parts store.  The Challenger it's on is a CA emissions car.  The cap is 2 3/16" in diameter and the flange on the outer edge is 1/4".

I thought the same thing when I ordered my 'flip top'. After it showed up I'm thinking 'What!?! - I have to buy a cap to put under the cap?!?'   :eek7:

Wonder why Dodge didnt make it like on the charger. That makes no sense to have a cap under a gas cap.

I assumed the Charger cap was the same idea as the Challenger?  :clueless:

I thought those flip top caps had a rubber seal on the flip top to seal against the fillerneck opening?   :clueless:
