On Monday when I got to work they had two cops waiting for me. They told the cops that I had threatened to kill everyone in the building unless the moved me to another area, and then they fired me.
I thought that $#it only happened in movies!
Glad that stuff is behind you and you're on to better things.  Keep an eye out for Challengers/cudas over there. They should be rust free!  Maybe the odd bullet hole though....

David,

Good luck to you over there. Do you have any idea how long you'll be gone?

I'll bet the Mopar scene isn't much over there either.    :o

It's a little difficult to say. Best guess right now is more than a year and less than three years.

Since you will be working as a civie you will learn to love the American quarter to which outside rules have little bearing. But life there is very very very very different.

The upside is that I believe the first 75k you earn there is tax free to good ole Uncle Sam......

I believe the first 90k is tax free, if I'm out of the country 11 months out of the year. Needless to say, those are my plans

Thanks Dave, and thanks to everyone for the well wishes. I'm feeling pretty good about the safety factor, but it will definitely be a culture shock.

Wishing you the best on the new adventure.
Make the best of it while you are over there.
Buy a DSL camera, probably cheaper in SA and take lots of pictures.
Will miss your humor until you get back  :chatting:  online.

A getaway to Dubai isn't that far I take it?
Sounds like quite an extravagant place to go visit.
