Whats up guys....

Anyone have any pictures of CALTRACKS on their car? How low do they hang off the front leaf spring bracket?

I'm not expecting crazy traction improvement but I'm hoping to prevent coming down on the pinon subber...........

I'm Running MOPAR oval track spring with 20.5 front segment (I like the height)...and if I launch hard sometimes I will come down on pinion subber.....

CALTRACKS will prevent that no?

Isn't that the point of the snubber? As the rear end rotates on acceleration, the snubber contacts the pad on the body using the leverage created to plant the rear tires. You can get adjustable snubbers. Yes Caltracs will effectively stiffen the front sections of your springs. They hang down no more than 3" from the spring.

Well, oval track springs aren't designed for launching but are designed rather for rolling into the throttle while the car is moving. Launching is why the super stock springs were developed so you are cross breeding designed functions. Similarly, the snubber coming up and hitting the floor is preventing the wrap up that would occur without it, so it is doing its job.

You can address this a couple of ways without going to a cal-trak. Cheapest, quickest, easiest way is to add a length of a  leaf,  .38 thick, on top of the main leaf, that runs from the axle housing pad to the spring eye, and clamp it in a couple places.  This is the approach Hotchkis uses in their modified leaf springs.

The other approach takes a bit more work. Remove and dis-assemble the spring pack. Align the second leaf so its leading edge is centered under the spring eye. re-drill is alignment hole, Align each subsequent leaf so its leading edge is 3" back and re-drill their alignment holes. At the bottom, add a forward facing half leaf to match the alignment of the others. Re-assemble and put three clamps on the front segment, one on the rear. This creates a psuedo SS pack with the oval track main leaf.

Yea I kind of figured I was using the oval springs for the wrong application,,, however I liked the ride height and I thought the shorter front segment of the oval track spring 20.5 would make it stronger than the  longer 22 front segment springs.

I have CalTracs on mine and they work great during the hard launches but I drag race not oval.  I have a mono spring and 3 inches is correct for the distance.
