It happened again, my town on the national news because of some wack job that cant handle life.  I assure you the water is fine here, but it sure seems to me that we are on the national news an awfull lot over the years compared to other (and much bigger) cities. God bless the families involved today.

I don't really know if it is the people or the news.  Communications via the TV and internet are so much more vast today.   The worst story of a small town 10 years ago would be only local news, today it make national and world news and could easily become the worst news of the nation.

Not trying to trivialize what has happened, just saying the news surrounds us with these stories now and you can't escape them.

Just wait for all the 12-21-2012 wack job stories to start coming out more and more as we get closer.  All kinds of stuff will be blamed on it and the media will hype the poop out of it. Can't wait.

Yes we are saturated by the media ,they get a hold of a story and they run with it mean while the same very thing might be happening murders,abductions ,natural disasters .......we see more and more tornado vids making us think there are more tornadoes are there? else where and we dont hear about it.....depending on what channel we watch

  There have always been these types of things happening,it`s just the media going for the stories that up their ratings.One of the main reasons I watch very little news.

   So many news stations have become tabloid news.  It's whatever sells.  This story certainly got my attension.  Locally, I can see the difference in the news stations.  The ones that just report the regular news seem old and outdated.  Maybe it's just this station as it's semi conservative.  I haven't watched them in a while...

I can hardly watch the news anymore with the kids now as the stuff you see will give nightmares to kids...
