Classic Wrecks: The Rusted Car as Art

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Now that's right up my ally. I have not had a chance to do much building over the summer and have been wanting to get started again. In the winter I go on reduced hours at my work so I will have a lot more building time.  And I plan on building a bunch to sell this spring to get some car parts money.  Lost reverse in my trany again.     :swear:       Just started this a couple of days ago. Got a lot of new stuff to try also.  Will post more as they progress.    Doug

Very cool and I wish I had time to try some of this work myself. However, one critique is that his placement of rust holes in the body seems a bit un-natural. Rust occurs from the inside outm which he does well, but is typically at the bottom of things where water, leaves, and road  sediment settles. If a bottom of a door rusts through, odds are the rocker below it will show similar decay before points higher up will eat through the surface. Rust around wheel openinsg will follow the structure behind the skin and create patterns as well.

Overall, great work!

Yeah, I've been slacking in the model car department ever since the Revell model car contest, I take i that no one here won.  They had some neat stuff.

Yeah, some of the rust seems out of place.  To be acurate, I just have to go out and look at my car!!!  :roflsmiley:

I like the custom stuff, this precludes any notion that you need a perfect paint job, which I certainly can't do.  :walkaway:
