The wheels seen in the pic from Sema look great.They appear to be different from yearones and better looking.

I believe the SEMA wheel is the same offered by YearOne. Look identical to me.

17x9's with 5" backspace should fit all the way around. That's what I've got on my my Challenger, with 275/40/17's on all 4. I do have a 1" relocation with a B body rear, but I don't think its absolutely necessary for those, I've got over an inch to the springs AND the wheel openings. With a stock rear and no relocation I would guess that you'd be pretty much maxed out, but they should fit.

In the front the only thing I think you'd need is a modern alignment (negative camber) and maybe offset bushings. I have Hotchkiss UCA's, but they don't add any clearance anywhere. I did have some slight rubbing initially on the passenger side fender at the top of the wheel arch, but I increased my camber to -.9 degrees and clear just fine now. It's tight for sure, so it would come down to factory tolerances. I'd bet most cars would clear with a little negative camber, some might require a little more (like mine). The hotchkiss UCA's and 11 3/4" rotors are the only mods I have in the front now, stock spindles and lca's.

I really like the big & little look back to front so I'd definitely go with 9's on back 8's on front.  I have a 70 B Body rear I could put on the Barracuda, just haven't decided to deviate too far from stock ....  yet.

Is the blue Challenger in your pics the one with 9's all around?  If so, do you have a better picture that shows how the wheels & tires look on the car?

Yeah the blue Challenger has 17x9's all around. 275/40/17's on all 4. The B body rear end will bolt in, no mods needed, with one of Dr. Diff's 1" offset kits. No spring perches to move or anything, just the offset hangers and shackles. Makes a TON of room out back, as you can see from my 275's. But, as I think you can see I've got over an 1" from the tire to the quarter, and the B rear is only 3/4" shorter per side. So you should be able to fit a 17x9 with 5" backspace and a 275/40/17 without the B rear and offsets.

17x8 with a 4.5" backspace is a pretty easy fit in the front if you go that route. 4.75" backspace would probably be better, as it will still be close to the fender, but plenty of people run them without any issues.

I LOVE the look of all that rubber under the back!  I hadn't thought about running 9" front rims but yours looks darn good.  With so much room still available in the back I'd be tempted to match your setup on front and go one or two size larger on the back tire-wise.  Did you want to be able to rotate the tires, or did you just like the look of all 4 corners being the same size?  Not sure what other sizes are available for the back but something around a 300/40/17 would seem to be about right...  Thanks for the pics, they really help me get an idea of how your combo looks on the car.

I wanted to be able to rotate the tires since I'm running so much negative camber up front. -1 degree is around the level you start to see tire wear due to the camber on a street driven car, and since I'm at like -.9 now I'm pretty much right there. I'd say it was to keep from wearing out the rears, but with a plain jane 318, 904 auto, and 3.23's I don't spin those 275's much.  :grinno:

The tire selection in those sizes gets tricky too. 275/40/17 is a pretty common size, lots of options. From there it goes to a 285/40/17, a few options out there. Almost nothing in a 295/40, a few in 295/35 but that's only a 25" tall tire. Then it pretty much goes to 315/35/17, and not a ton of selection there either. Also keep in mind that if you want to go bigger than 295 you'll need a 10" rim or bigger, so the rallye's would be out because the biggest I've seen them in is 17x9.

With the B rear and 1" offset you could fit 295's without issue. Maybe even 315's if your backspacing was spot on, but again you'd need a 10 or 11" wide rim for that. I didn't see a point in going to 285/40/17 in the back vs the 275's, not enough of a difference to give up the ability to rotate the tires and a better selection at 275. They'd probably look better though, little more sidewall, little taller tire to have out back.

They would be easy to clean...........  Only issue they do not reflect the oval hole onto the rim.
This is one of the outstanding features of the factory rallye wheels

Whilst I'll make my final decision until after seeing a decent profile shot on an e-Body, here's a video which shows them in the flesh.

No, I'm running a '70 B body rear with Dr. Diff's 1" offset hangers and shackles. The rims are Summit's Legend 5's, they're 17x9 with a 5" backspace. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, because of the extra room I have in the back I'm pretty sure that you can fit a 17x9 with a 5" backspace with a stock e body rear and spring location, BUT, that'd be as big as you could go, and you'd be down to factory tolerances on whether or not it would fit your car- ie, if the rear is shifted a 1/4" to one side or the other (not uncommon) you might have some trimming issues on the wheel openings.

Suspension on the car is Mopar XHD springs in the back, front is stock except for Hotchkis UCA's and 1.12" torsion bars, its lowered pretty significantly in the front using the torsion bar adjusters.

I also like the 17x9 with the 5" bs... perfect geometry to match the factory stock position within the wheel well.  IF/WHEN my extra cash opens up, I may purchase a set of these and get some 275-40-17s at 200 tread wear ratings for competition events that allow that minimal 200 tread wear (such as Good Guys, or certain hi-speed road course events where I'd be hitting upper speeds of ~120-135 mph.  This will then compliment my other rims/tires combos: 15x8 (4.375 bs) Vintage Minilites with "Street/Hwy" BFG T/A 245-60, 275-60;  16x10 Centerline X-Series competition forged road race rims (5"bs) with Hoosier A6 275-45-16 autocross tires.    The weight of the rims is a factor that I am concerned with... lighter = faster!  However, the relatively low cost is very attractive!... wish they'd offer them in 10" width and maybe an 11" rim, too, then 315-35-17s would be on my car more quickly!
Autocross/road racers go in deeper... and come out harder!

haha I'm the same. Dead keen, but won't do it until I see a decent photo of them on an e-body to get a proper perspective.

I've asked twice on the FB page, but no one seems to care. Apparently expecting customers to buy blind is the new customer service.

The wheels have arrived but the required lug nuts have not :clueless:
I picked up my set today :bigsmile: so I could go ahead and get the tires mounted.

The front - 17x8 is 25.25 lbs
The rear  - 17x9 is 25.8 lbs. (They're not as light as the 3-piece forged wheels I initially was going to get, but these are $5 grand less and look more period correct.

I brought my camera but forgot the cable that allows me to upload :swear: I'll get them posted tomorrow.

First Impression: Pretty darn good wheels. The paint on the center is good and is free of any defects. The lip is not polished as it appears in the pictures. It still looks damn good though.

I hope to have these mounted by the weekend.

Prepare yourselves for an onslaught of before-&-after pictures.
