Bellhousing Dust Shield
« on: October 25, 2012 - 11:16:43 PM »
I am looking for the dust shield/spacer that mounts between the starter and the bellhousing on a small block/A833 combo.I have the pan that mounts under the bellhousing.I see Brewers sells a new one.Might be an option.

The one on my A833 looked like this:

And was painted engine color.. and that image is upside down from how it actually mounts on the car..

The part you listed Brotow is for a 727 auto.

That certainly makes a difference.  I have a 340 with I thought was a 727 and the cover on mine does not look like the small 727 cover, sorta looks like the one for the 4 spd. it has a hole where the starter goes.  The trans is not bolted to the engine(engine at the re builders) .  I'll have to  take a closer look at my transmission.  Did 727s have a different cover?

This page shows the differences:

The one you posted for sale is a Big Block/Hemi 727.
The small block 727 has a starter hole and a rounded bottom
The A833 small block has a starter hole and a flat bottom
