1970 Cuda dash harness question

Guys

After cleaning my dash wiring up a bit I found two areas that concern me where some modification has taken place. If anyone knows what these areas are for and if it's anything to be worried about please let me know. I'd like to get this figured out before slapping the dash together.

In the first two pics, a green wire has been spliced in. I have shown a close up and a wide shot of it.

In the last two pics a lone wire has no connector on it.

I'd love to know what these are.

from the head,I think the light-dark green wiring belongs to the road lamps. I`d like to see the other ends...

The dark green wire is coming out of the connector and is just clipped at the end so it basically goes nowhere. Now I'm trying to figure out why they did this and how to correct it. The other yellow wire just doesn't have a connector on the end and I wonder if that is another accessory someone was trying to run?

I can get more pics if needed.

The connector in the first two pics look like the blower switch to me. Light green, dark green and black.
IF IT IS - then Black (which is now spliced with green) is supposed to connect with the two tan wires it has been strapped together with. But it seems that connector is already run into the harness with something similar to the black wire...


Dont know what the other wire pics are though, but I think I dont have them connected and they just fly near the radio... (If memory serves me correct)

You mean the heater switch? I have a schematic which shows the exact type connector but the colors don't seem to match. It says Brown, black and dark green wires and now I see black, light green and dark green.

I have some more pics.

The ones from above which reference the first two pics actually run the electrical strand that ultimately goes to the high beam/low beam switch.

Now I can take both of these connectors and put the wires back to the original wires but I am trying to find out why someone did this and what these connectors are for? Any input would be great.

hey Bryan, it is the heaterswitch wiring.  I`ve been looking in my old harness and couldn`t figure it out since all I found green-tan and black in the scematics, and green-green black in my harness, but seems the 2 green wires are used in airconditioning applications  I took a picture of that particular section in the drawings, but having trouble uploading pics with a new computer  I will try later on...
The black with white tracer is supposed to end up in the fusebox .
Il try to figure out the other wires....

the connector with the 2 orange wires and re with tracer connects to the radio. the red one goes to the fusebox.

Thanks Bart, I had a sneaking suspicion that one of them was altered for the radio. Now I know the one.

So the other is for the heater eh? So now here is the question, I deleted the A/C on my car and went with regular heating so should I just put it back the way it was and connect it to the heaterbox? Hmmm or maybe just leave it off?

Guess I'll have to tear into the heaterbox now.

 hm.i have an ac car to, but no ac stuff in the engine room.everything is connected as stock under the dash and heat and defrost mode still works.so im thinkin you should connect  it as factory.
