Naw, $30k in not enough for him to part with it. Had 5 offers already in the $33k-$34k and turned those down. As for camaro verts, they made 5 times as many compared to the barracuda. Biggest motor in a bow tie camaro was the 396. Cuda had 440, 440-6 and the HEMI. Everybody I have talked to that has a camaro says they bought their cause they couldn't find or afford a Cuda! He's in no rush to sell, he's had it for years, sure he could hold onto it for a while longer.

It is a nice car but the reasoning is a bit odd to me IMHO.

Car is in need of a new paint job and trunk metal work, which is $10k right there for a driver quality job.  Most 'vert buyers will want a Rallye hood and rear exhaust cutouts eventually so that will have to be considered.

I'd at least put a $100 hockey stick (think they can make custom "318" versions) decal on it to spruce it up some b/c right now, looks pretty darn plain.  Maybe a rear go-wing spoiler too.  And some trim rings?

I bought bascially the same car, 1970 California Barracuda Convertible - worse paint and interior but rust free and rust free trunk floor for $8,200 in 1997 - just saying.

well he had the car originally for almost $40k and dropped it to $36k. If somebody only has $30k to spend, then they can buy a hardtop barracuda or a challenger vert then. It does not need a paint job, paint looks pretty good on it. Yes, for someone to miss buying for $2k is a big mistke, they should pay it and not miss out on a nice car. Sorry I didn't post the info, was doing it on my iphone and didn't know hot to do it correctly.

Car has nice paint job, if somebody want s a show car, then they can buy a showcar done and enjoy it that way. As for the cut-out, it has them on the car with NOS tips already. I agree, the car looks plain, but you can;t customize something as everybody has diffrent tastes. If it were me, I would buy the car myself, fix the small hole in the trunk, get a cuda hood and paint it, paint the rally wheels and add trim rings, put the cuda tail trim, gils and a rear spoiler on it and sell the car for $47k-$48k and have it sold in the same weekend. Would cost $2k to do it, but hey, he does not want to spend the extra money on a car, just want to sell it. Man, now I'm digging this car more. :ylsuper:

Here is the new info. Will update more tonite.

 This is a fly in and drive home car and is fully registered and insured. Tom is the 3rd owner of this car and bought it from the second owner that had owned it from 1972-2003. BODY: Nice body, very straight, good 5ft paint job that was done in the 1970's. Driver quality with minor nicks, scratches and a few small dings. Paint has held up nicely though, probably from all the years it was garage stored. Something about a low mileage car like this is how it drives. Since it was barely driven, this car does not have that flexy, soft, sagging in the body that happens to convertibles. Feels good down the road, really nice solid, firm ride and most restored cars with tons of panel replcment There is a mild amount of minor peppering rust starting on the passenger side lower quarter panel, probably won't need a patch panel, probably just a clean up and paint. Trunkpan on passenger side has gotten some rust through, but can be patched easily (rubber trunkmat held in a water and rusted it) and will not need a full trunk replacement, just a small patch as the rest is very solid. Rest of the car looks superb with no rust in the floors, fenders, doors, hood, trunklid, framerails or any other part of the car. Yes, hard to believe a 1970 Barracuda with almost NO rust and in excllent condition, that is a very hard car to find! Grill is very nice original piece, has 1971 mirrors installed, Duel exaust rear valnce with NOS tips. Top looks original with a small rip over the lower rear passenger side, factory chrome in in very nice condition and still pretty shiny for it's age. Bumpers are straight and chrome is driver quality. INTERIOR:Car has a very nice interior with console, clean seats, good panels and set backs, pretty nice dahspad (there is an alarm light in the speaker grill so the speaker cover is pushed up alittle). Converted to floorshift a few years ago, gauges work really nice. Has stock am radio in it and factory seat belts. DRIVETRAIN: Radiator was upgraded to a 22in and rebuilt by Glen Ray Radiators, has the 7 blade 246 fan and fan shrould. 318 is original to the car. Crank kit with new crank, rod and main bearings installed along with high volume oil pump with mopat Performance 268 cam installed. Unleaded police 1985 cylinder heads were installed with hipo 340 exaust manifolds, Demon 580cfm carburetor on LD340 intake with aftermarket air cleaner and upgraded to electronic ignition. Frontend has power steering, upgraded to disc brakes, Upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rod ends, idler arm all replaced. Car has 15x7 Rally chrome wheels and nice BFG tires. A replacment 904 transmission was installed and has 1000 miles on it, original transmission case comes with the car. Overall car is very nice driver and would make a great summer cruiser with needing a little tlc from all the years it was garaged stored, Though the car is very nice, just a little bit of tlc is needed to make it even better. This car is sold as-is and all sales are final and no refunds. Winning bidder has 24 hours to send via paypal a $500 deposit and remainder to be wired to his bank or cash apon pickup. Car will not be release until payment has cleared. Though every bit of info is listed with more pics for honest viewing, this car is sold as-is. Winning bidder will have to arrange transport, though I do have transporters that travel california and the continental usa and can arrange for shipping at an extra cost. how would I know what money from canada is? There dollar used to be twice the usa, then dumped back and forth. meh, whatever. not like you were in the running to buy it anyway. THis is a post for sale, not your reason to dog-pile on a post and comment on your own opinions. If the owner wants to turn down coin, then that's fine by me. If he recently turned down $55k for the yellow one, then I'm pretty sure he's not hurting to cut the other one loose.
