Have not had the time to post is like I wanted, too busy of a work scedule. Did however got the car to stop smoking. Apparently the smoke gas gas that was not burning right, not oil. Adjusted the demon carb, changed out old gas and problem solved!

Yea $39k for that car is wishfull thinking I believe. That being said, it is a pretty nice car that does need some work. All depends on what a buyer is looking for. I do know that $39k isn't going to get anybody into a comparable bs code vert. Good luck with the sale.

yeah it's a cool car, wish it were mine. Just updated info on the car and changed the original posting on it. Had 2 offers of $33k on the car, but not enough. Maybe have the time to list it tomorrow, been busy selling off some other cars and havn't had the time to really list this one yet.

In your EBAY ad, you might want to reword a thing or two IMHO.

Things like:
(though it is not registered and will need to be before it can be driven on California streets) - My question, why isn't it registered? The new owner will have to pay all past years that it hasn't been updated. (at least in Oklahoma) Something to consider.

Then:
If you bid and do not pay, we will have you sued for the full auction amount and all legal fees. If a minor bids and does not pay, we will sue their parents and/or guardians for the auction amount and all laeal fees. - To me, that sends a wrong message of if you sneeze wrong, I will sue you. Sue happy are we? I'm just saying. It's not very inviting but yet could be a battle to the courts. I know your intentions, but the approach is a little harsh to try and get the biggest audience to make a good sell.

Think of your auction as a used car lot commercial. You don't hear used car lot commercials say, come on in and buy this car or I will sue your ass off. Again, IMHO.

If you look at ebays rules and policies all bids placed in the eBay motors vehicle category are non-binding so they could sue but they would lose. Here is a link to the policy http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/non-binding-bid.html

This is precisely why you see folks playing the bid retraction game and having their buddy pick up the car cheaper.

Thanks for the friendly suggestions. I have had close to 300 cars and help sold about another 80 cars of friends, so I kinda know what I'm doing here.  I just found out the car is registered and insured so it can be driven out of California. Oh by the way, you don't have to register a car to be driven out of California. You can get a permit to drive it one day, or the new owner can register it in their state and fax over the paperwork and complete it without paying the dmv fees. As for th 'sue you info, I put that in every auction, for the last 15 years and never had a problem. Better to deterre a bad bidder than deal with a deadbeat one. I usually end the auctions before their time so I don't have to sell it on eBay. I will do the revisions tonite before I end the auction. I know my friends price might seem high, but is the only driver vert out there under $100k.

Not sure I follow you.  :clueless:
If they retract a bid just to see the reserve price, how are they getting it cheaper?  :dunno:
I've had it done to me but they didn't get it cheaper. My reserve is the cheapest I will go on any ebay deal.

I kinda understand your reason but I think it might fear off potential buyer IMHO.
I too have been dealing with ebay for many many years. I mention I will REPORT false bidders and haven't had any major problems.
As mentioned before, auctions on ebay motors are non-binding.
But to each their own...
Again, just IMHO.

It is a very nice vert though.

They talk about it here:
http://forums.collectors.com/messageview.cfm?catid=11&threadid=828288

Although it's about collectors cards its the same thing. Run the bid up to find your max bid then retract their bid.

Look to get around 30K.  That seems to be the right number for alot of cars out there.  Not just mopars either, I've been following 68-69 camaro's for a little while now, and the top dollar is 30K unless it's been on a rotisserie.
