Got out of work at the usual 3:30 and the roads were pretty empty.Filled the Jeep up with gas and got home, only had to dodge some tree limbs and such.no big trees at the new house so only real woory is losing the power as the generator is`nt hooked up-I need to order a trasnfer switch and get it wired in.

Honestly, you don't need a transfer switch. Just be sure your main breaker is OFF before you go to the generator.

In Winchester VA, 40 mph winds with 60 mph gusts. Been raining pretty hard since the early morning. We're about an hour from the rain/snow line in WV.

No power at home since 8:30 pm EST. Had to dump the perishables from the fridge and the temp in the house just keeps on dropping.  Still above freezing though.  Lost 2 pine trees that were next to my house, fortunately they fell away from the house and all the wiring.  It was too dark to check the roof but hopefully they didn't drag any shingles off on the way down.

Wind warning is in effect until 1pm today I guess.  Hope the worst of it is past.

What state are you in, Jamie?  Hope everything will be ok soon.

Losing the power was something I thought might happen to us too but thanks fully it didn't.  If it did I would bring the grill into the garage and bring all the meat out from the freezer and have a massive barbeque.  Had no idea what I would do with the meat otherwise, would have to just throw it out.

I'm in Ohio, near Cleveland.  We are still getting rain and some wind still.  Thus far the rain has just been steady so the drainage seems to be keeping up near me, I'm not near any rivers or streams that are likely to flood.

Glad to hear no flooding.  When you start to flood there's not too much you can do unless you have a pump or start bailing water!

Hope you get your power back soon! Stay warm!
