From an old hurricane veteran down here in Miami, I wish you all good luck. I went directly through Andrew and Katrina, and even this one when it was developing. I happened to experience the birth of Sandy down in the Caribbean sea about 10 days ago, and a lady fell overboard on our cruise ship! We diverted to get her to port (she looked like she hurt her neck from what I saw of her) after her rescue at sea, which took about 2 hours finding her in the middle of the night, but thats another story.
Remember that most deaths occur AFTER the storm has passed, from downed powerlines, overflowing rivers/mudslides, traffic accidents (stoplights out), falling off roof during repairs, etc. In fact, I lost a friend to a car accident two days after Andrew in 1992. Signals were out. So you can count on the fact that many idiots will be out that dont understand the rules of the road.
Be careful out there!!
