"New" To Me Challenger
« on: October 31, 2012 - 10:43:34 AM »
Hello, everybody. I am in Montana.

I just bought a 70 Chally this past weekend.  Oh, sure it needs some TLC, but I am up for the ...well.... you know.  (No pun intended)

My car was disassembled by the previous owner for blasting, but he found something different.   My car was actually in a field by some grain bins. The parts were IN the grain bin.  Pretty farm fresh, huh?

Someone painted it gold after doing some body work, but if you look at the front you can see tha car is "Burnt Orange" or Copper.   All my VIN tags and stampings match, but not build sheet or fender tag, yet. PO took it off over 7 years ago and can't find it... I am trying to avoid another VP clone.  I am curious how many COPPER or BURNT ORANGE cars were built.

Anyway it was a 318 car, but has since been changed over to a 383. It has front discs.  This is about the best pic of the car.

Standby because I will have a lot of questions.

Thanks in advance.... 70 MT Chally

Not sure how many Burnt orange cars were built. No records.I get the impression it was a popular color. Not so much now. Most have had a color change.I stayed with Burnt Orange.

Thanks for the replies...

The color is growing on me.   I have seen a lot of Green and purple cars around here.  Of course, Ive seen a few White ones, too.

I used to own a 71 Charger, but have always wanted a 70 Challenger.  It took me a long time to find one in my price range. (20 years)

I will post some more "raw" pics this weekend.

I look forward to looking at the site and learning more about these cars.

Here are a couple more pics of where the car sat for a long time... It is really a farm find. The parts were literally in a grain bin, but protected from the elements.

Thanks, 70 MT Chally
