I need a Xanex
« on: November 03, 2012 - 06:55:51 AM »
I am within a week of starting my engine. The stress incredible. I read all the books, I listened to my engine builder, I read this forum. I took all the steps. This will be my first engine build. I had a good shop do the machining and balancing. I have done everything else. Hours of cleaning grease, stripping paint then repainting.
I have over $5k invested which might be chump change to some of you but for me, it was my backup if I should lose my job, or even worse my girl says the 'M' word more than 3 times in a day.
I have nightmares of flattened cam lobes or improper priming (or priming at all if you listen to Chryco.)

-no oil pressure
-cam timing
-bad carb
-valve hitting a head
-intake manifold leaks
-valves hitting pistons
-cylinder glazing
-valve sealing
-dropping it off the hoist
-blood from my cheap Autozone piston ring compressor in the bore
-did I leave my timex in the oil pan

Time will tell but still......................I need a Xanenx

440 bored /055"
SRP forged race pistons
Reworked LY rods wit ARP bolts
440 source stealth heads
Lunati 303 hyd cam
Headers
727 auto   3:91 suregrip.
Performer RPM and 750 carb

Time will tell but still......................I need a Xanenx
