Well I think thats it for me....
« on: November 03, 2012 - 06:24:15 PM »
, I think that was the last drive of the season for me.

Took the cuda out for spin, some errands and what not today.  Was fund but not that fun in the 4 degree weather.  Good thing that I have a heater!

I think this drive solidified my further goals for the car, and a few winter projects for me.

1 - rebuild the front suspension.
2 - de arch the rear leafs and new bushings (hope this hlps the ride somewhat).
3 - seriously consider switching to power steering.  I need to rebuild the column anyway, have a spare power column, and for a pure street car, the manual steering is a bit of a pain.
4 - I may even consider a milder cam in the engine, the cam in it now is just a bit much. (current cam - @050 Int dur. 222 , Ex dur. 234 Lift Int .447 Ex .450 Intake Centre line 107 Ex centerline 116).
5 -  may look at upgranding my carb to adjustable airbleeds etc to more effectively tune the street manners.

So think I will put the car up on stands tonight or tomorrow and start pulling the front suspension apart and see if I can not make it a little better to drive for next summer.

It was nice to have the sun today - I took an SRT-8 Challenger for a test drive.  Nothing quite like 470HP with cold tires.....

If you need a 'core' PS box to trade in I probably have one, as well as a clean, working PS pump for small block

I have a PS box ( large sector shaft) you can use as a core if you need it? :thinkerg:

Thanks guys.

Once I get to that point I will be in touch.

Neil - any suggestions on the cam.  In all honestly, I am hesitant to change the cam, as the engine runs fine, and the last thing I want to do is screw it up.
