1970 Challenger
« on: November 11, 2012 - 09:23:35 PM »
Hello again everyone. It's been a while since I've posted anything. My first post was under the 'New Intros' section in the earlier part of 2011. I took a little time off from working on it due to other interests. I've recently started making progress again and wanted to start a new thread because I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions on reassembly. Here are a few pictures of where I'm at now.

Wow your car looks really great Andrew.   :2thumbs:

My advice to start with is to concentrate on trim restoration, glass & hardware, Interior/dash restoration, and grille.

These are the most time consuming. Everything else gets easier from there on.
Then do brakes and fuel lines.

Install engine and trans as one unit from underneath using a cherry picker to lower car onto assembly.

Put a S.F. Giants sticker on it.  :grinyes:

I have made some progess and thought I would share some photos. This was my first vinyl top installation. It turned out pretty nice. I can say it's definitely a lot harder than it looks!

Wow! you did a great job, especially for a first time.  :2thumbs:   :ylsuper:   I just paid two guys to do mine yesterday and I'm glad I did.  As you said, it's a lot harder than it looks.   :worshippy

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Thanks! I decided to do it myself because I didn't really know or trust anyone in the area to do it :banghead:.

Sorry, I can't help you out with the switch. I would try posting in the parts wanted section. I have had some luck finding parts there.
