It looks like it can still be saved, is the junkyard owner willing to sell???? At the very least, get the engine, trans, rear, and whatever else is salvagable.

Yes, he will sell. Its pretty well stripped.
It could probly be bought for $100.
Problem is, its about 1/4 mile back and no way to drive to it. Solid cars just paths between them.
It would have to be carried out in pieces.
There is another one just like it about 200 yards away. I am going to try and decode that one also.

I have thought the same thing.
It would be cool just to drag it home and sit it next to the house.
Wife would love that.
Actually I may put it in front of my sons body shop to attract business.
It would be an awesome advertisement dont you think?

Maybe I should put it on ebay, if the bid gets high enough, then go get it, or let the bidder get it?

Sad to say, I've seen less sell for more.
May not be a bad way for you to make extra $$$

you guys must know your b? bodies? I dont, only ebodies.
I went by the door sticker. Indicates 1970
The dash vin is gone, the rad shroud is gone, the fender tag is gone. Maybe the door had been replaced? Or is the back of the car a 70?
I can check the engine code for year.
I am going to take a jack and lift it up, do b bodies have torque boxes for 440-6 cars and hemis like the ebodies do? If so, I can check for them if I lift it up.
I want to check the other charger also for torque boxes if b bodies have them?
Let me know.
Moparmatt, where are you located? You will pay 350 if I get it out?
Think 4 guys can carry a body shell? Up a steep hill?

I am going back this saturday to extract a 67 mustang fastback that I purchased for $100. Have to carry it about 300 yards. In pieces if we have to.

Last saturday, found a second ebody 833 4 spd in one of the buildings on the property. The owner let me in the building after I brought him and his wife a breaded tenderloin. Beautiful condition, with tabs and linkages,  and a 70 pistol grip (push in) shifter still mounted on it. It was labeled as from a 83 dodge van and someone had cut the pistol grip shifter off and welded a long truck like shifter on it. Almost did not recognize it at first it was so covered with grease. Owner wanted $100 bucks for the whole thing. I think 100 will buy about anything in the yard.

could not find the Demon I had seen on an earlier trip that I will take pics of and send to this thread as requested. This place is over 40 acres of cars in a meandering gravel pit and I cant find my way around everywhere yet. There are probly 200 cars under water at this time that I wont be able to see until it dries up this summer. I can see two convertible tops sticking above the ice now. The tops are raised up and the cars are under the ice. Can you say hemi cuda convertible? Maybe I am obsessed?
Have found several parts of cudas, but so far no complete cuda.
I know there is a hemi in there somewhere :P

In one of the barns is a pile of transmissions and engines about 6 ft high and 40 ft circle with huge wooden beams on top. It will take a fork lift to dig thru it, but theres got to be a hemi in there someone.
If not, its still fun hoping and looking for treasure.
Do others of you get a kick out of searching stuff like this or am I wierd?

Where is this place??? Sounds like a fun weekend to me.......As for the door, if it was a 70 door, it should be very easy to tell because the body lines are different and it wouldn't match.  You can look on the cowl and radiator support to see if the VIN matches up to the one on the door, so you wont have to check for torque boxes. Also, it would take 4 incredibly  strong guys to carry a 3,000+ lb car up a hill. If you strip it to a shell, your might be able to get it to under 2,000 lbs and could probably carry it with 6 people. If he wants a 100 bucks, buy it and sell the parts on ebay......Lastly, can you keep an eye out for an e-body 833 tailshaft for me ;D ohhh and a cheap hemi  ;)

If the rust isn't too bad... it might be worth my while.

Find out what kind of e-bodies they have, also what other semi-desirable cars. And... what else is underwater- including what the convertibles are.

Oh yeah, where is this place located?

Thanks!

I am in Northern Indiana.
I am going back there this weekend.
I posted pics of several mopars a couple weeks ago in a thread on this site.
several 71-74 road runners (satellites)
a 69 roadrunner,
2 69/70 coronets
2: 69/70 chargers,
70 duster, with billboards
70 demon
signet convertible
valiant convertible
they are all pretty well parted out and lots of rust in the bottoms.

Man this place sounds like a gold mine.  I wish there were some yards like that in NY.  Probably just havent found them yet.  The only yards I have found that have had old cars have mostly fords and chevies.  Never any good mopars.  The best mopar I have ever found in a yard was a 72 slant six barracuda that rolled over and was stripped of most of the good parts.
