Vintage Air install recommendation in Southern Maryland?
« on: November 13, 2012 - 07:15:31 PM »
Hello, all!

By any chance, are there any members here in the Southern MD area who are aware of a shop or mechanic in the SoMD that has actually installed a Vintage Air Gen III a/c kit into a '70-74 E body?

I will wait until I can find a mechanic / installer that has done the VA Gen III-specific upgrade themselves (am not looking for anyone who has not) and; thought I'd reach out to you all, in case anyone here knows anyone you'd recommend highly (and trust entirely).

My '73 Challenger is a factory NON a/c car with a 440 Magnum engine dropped in it out of a '70 GTX.

I'm not worried about mod'ing the interior dash (having the cool air come out from under dash is okay with me) but, I want to avoid as many headaches as possible dealing with any bracketing and engine bay "fit" issues, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Hello!

Thanks and, oh yeah, I checked out the "who and where" available in MD on the VintAir website before posting, here.

You're fortunate and you are truly in great shape, distance wise (at least 2 dealer / installers in northern AA Co, IIRC).

However, we are way-y-y-y down in Solomon's Island, at least a 2-hour drive from Millersville or Pasadena. Don't get me wrong -- I'll drive my car that far in a heartbeat before I set myslef up with someone who is gona use my ride to "learn" the ins and outs of doing the Vintage install.

But, I was (still am?) hopeful that there may be someone down here in my neck o' the woods with actual VintAir-install experience already under their belts, so to speak. If on any classic Mopars well, that'd make it even more to my satisfaction!

I hope we get to meet personally at a meet or show someday!

(The prior commitment I made for tomorrow fell through so, after I get the Christmas lights on the house, we're going' for a short Saturday cruise, tomorrow afternoon!!!!!!!!!!!)   :burnout:
