What are you doing for a battery?
« on: November 16, 2012 - 12:52:09 PM »
I was just wondering what members are using for batteries. I'm going to purchase a battery this weekend and just wondering who makes a decent battery. I was thinking of getting an Interstate. If this is the brand of choice could you tell me the series or part number? I'm running a 360 SixPack. Just a weekend drive. I'm not racing or anything. Any Help would be appreciated.

Last year, I needed to replace my battery so I did a little research on battery manufacturers.  Armed with a little knowledge, I opted for an Exide.  It seems to be a great battery.

Interstate was my second choice but I was able to find what I wanted (Exide) at a store near my house.

Good luck.

I've had an Optima battery the last 7-8 years. When I go over in the spring to take the car out of hibernation, I put a battery charger on it just out of curiosity. It's always at 95% charge.   :burnout:

Optima as well for the Challenger.

I also have an Optima battery in my truck and it works great in the cold -40F weather.

I had an optima yellow top in my 73 dart sport and i replaced it twice, was just garbage, maybe it was just a wave of crappy ones because 2 of my buddies were having the same problem, and we lived on the central coast (pismo beach) of california, not really hot or cold weather.  Never heard of a similar problem with red tops tho.  I just use walmart now, no problems with the dart or in my challenger.  just mt .02

A group 27 in this would be a no brainer to get.
Hopefully they'll offer other group sizes later.

That is a seriously sick battery!!  only 10 pounds, but i think $600 is a little steep for a car battery!
