I agree with the last post... Optima's used to be the only choice and lived forever but their quality has seemed to go down the last couple of years.  That being said i still choose one.  If my Optima goes I think I might try the Sears Diehard Platinum which is the same as Odyssey.

I have the Optima red top in the right side of the trunk. No problem after 5 years. Yellow tops are deep cycle, I believe, and are not suitable for a car. Mine has even been low after storage but seems to pick up and stay after charging it up.

mine turns over sluggish once in a while after sitting more than 2 weeks which i try to run every week,,red top,,battery cutoff,,3 1/2 years old,,but after running warm up charged and ready to go.spins the motor like new.we'll see what its got when i put the motor back in at christmas after the cam/heads change... sitting for almost 2 1/2 months,,now,wheres that volt meter??

I had a red top optima in a pickup with a 340 that was rarely driven and sat months at a time and would always start no problem the battery was 7 years old never a problem.

Ok... I really appreciate all the responses. Good Thread! I opted for the Optima Redtop Group 34. Now.. One more question. I'm going to put my battery under the hood, what are you using for a battery tray or battery hold down for the optima?
