It can be done.
You need to drill out the rivets at the base of the trim.
Next, take an exacto knife and carefully start cutting away the old material between the glass and the frame.
Be careful not to scratch the glass where it'll be visible.
Once you have removed enough crud; start persuading it to be separated using a flat tip screw driver at the top edge between the glass and the trim. This will take a while.
The rivets where you drilled out/located are unique to each glass/trim assembly. Re-rivet one each opposite direction. This will make sure it stays secure. The factory rivets they used were unique in length once compressed. That is another reason why you need to do them in opposite directions.
