« on: November 18, 2012 - 12:13:46 PM »
I have been thinking, with the transmission out of the car, about overdrives.Brewers sells a overdrive gear set complete for $250.Nothing wrong with my gears but with the 3.91's,freeways will be interseting. Will the OD gear set work my housing without modifications?

yes the OD gearset can be installed in an Iron case , I have done that but it didn't shift well & I am not sure why , you can buy a complete OD out of a truck or van for $200-400 though & just bolt it in

I've done the o/d thing a few times (even have 2 cars now), and while it all looks good on paper, there is one draw back.  To me the best thing about having a stick car is "going through the gears".  I don't mean racing, I just mean semi agressive driving.  The super wide gear spacing really kills this.
