I think Chrysler employed drunk welders back in the day!  ::)  Might want to take this opportunity to reweld the k-frame and gusset the steering box mounts? Look at firm feels web site for some pictures?

What about the rust under the rear window and windshield ? Goning to be a real bugger when it start to bleed out under your fresh paint.

You're right Brad, thanks for the suggestion.  I'll definitely do that.

@anlauto - you're very right and thanks for the headsup.  I plan on taking out the front & rear windows and cleaning up everything before doing the primer on the body

Well if that is the plan, then in my opinion the glass should have come out a long time ago to protect it from , sand blasting, weld sparks grinding sparks, sanding marks etc... :2cents:

Engine dyno yesterday :

1971 Cuba 383 dyno

got just over 330 horsepower and 393 torque.  Used a Bob Karkashian (mr6pack) cam recommended by CODY.  Overall for a pretty much stock-ish build i'm pretty happy I think.  Paid $428 for a full 7 hours of tuning and 3 guys working on setting things up and making changes.

Stock carb had a small issue because the vacuum secondary diaphram on the List 6191 carb (stock for 71 383 4 speed) was bad, and the one that came with my big $100 kit (part number 37-1536) had an eyelet on the end of the rod instead of an elbow.  Contacted holley and found out that the elbow was a chrysler only thing and is only available through Daytona Carburetors in florida.  Also I needed a banjo style fitting for the fuel inlet (part number 26-25).  Got them both shipped to me from daytona for $37 total.  Not a remarkable deal, but at least they're coming.  THe part number for the diaphram is 64-707a just for the record.

The other interesting info about the dyno was that the stock carb was performing comparably with a new style 80670 (with jets 69p and 72sec working the best), though the newer carb had slighly smoother torque and hp curves through the runs (could've been the vacuum secondary diaphram that we rigged in).  In addition to this, we found that a spacer added like 7 hp.  I think i'll try and just get a thicker gasket though instead of jumping to a 1" spacer right away.

That turned out real strong!  Time to get her in some paint and ready for her big date with the engine bay.   :clapping:
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

A few more pics.  Took my rear window out and started cleaning up the lower rust area.  My guess is the window's never been out until now.  also cleaned up the lower quarters where the valence mounts.  My quarters weren't amd and weren't really made to just have the valence plopped in, so I had to do some metal work/body work to get them nice to where it'd look right.  some body work on the inner fender aprons also and some work on the tail panel and licence plate area.

I'm trying to figure out what the correct fuel pump to Carb tubing is for my 383 4 speed with a holley 6191.  The best info i've come up with is that there's a brass fitting that goes into the carb which connects to possibly this descriptionless product, which I understand to be a prebent tube for all 383 and 440 4 barrel applications:

http://www.classictube.com/shop-online?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=9521&category_id=938&keyword=cyc1010

Can anyone verify this?  I'm having trouble finding any pictures or references on this, though I haven't yet checked my service manuals.

Surprized you have a Holley, must be an early build 71.
I would go with the 70 383 2 pc kit if you want a fuel filter in after the pump, or they do have a one piece for no filter.

I don't know about the other guys, but I only deal with Fine Lines http://finelinesinc.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=278_461&sort=2a&page=1
