The car is looking great. That wiper motor is looking a little out of place now though.

Where did you find that kmember/engine stand? If I had known it existed I might have bought one although it seems higher than what I had.

I basically had to make 36"+ height to get mine under but if there is a next time I'll use a lift.

See.... I saw those on eBay but it looks cheap to me, like he just cleaned one up and spray-bombed some gold on the cylinder.  I don't like it.  I'd probably just give mine a thorough cleaning before I flushed $280 down the crapper... :blah:

That stand does look like the one listed, although in my opinion it needs one more part to it to hold up the back half of the engine/tranny, etc. instead of just holding up the k member at the two bolt parts.  Other than that it worked great!

Yea the EBay wiper motor I posted is Cheesy...It was just the first one I found in a quick search. There are companies that will restore your original for about the same price.

There's a guy in michigan doing them. He is advertising on www.forebodiesonly.com I think they are $350 or so. They look a lot better then the ebay one. Not sure they are as nice as Julius did though.

Hey Duff, this is a cheaper option if you can find one...  Cardone 40-362
Autozone has them listed but they are out of stock right now...  I saw one on Amazon and grabbed it the other day...

Thanks guys.  I think for now i'm going to wait on this and save the dough until I have time to find something I like a bit more.

as for now I have the suspension and shocks in.  since i'm driving the car I went with monroe shocks and air shocks on the rear.  cost me a total of $105 and I think it'll work for now.

Hey anlauto (or anyone else reading), Do you think these are the correct rods for the transmission?  They had the same gunk on them that the reverse rod did and you said that that one looked stock, so my guess is that these might be the ones.  also, do you have a recommendation as to what I should do about my shifter mechanism?  I rebuilt it then found out that my shifter handle doesn't seem to go all the way in (even with force), so I'm not sure whether or not just to drill some holes and mess this one up to make it work, or if I should have a different unit entirely?

What's with the small alternator pulley :roflsmiley:

Those are now the correct rods ! Not sure what your shifter issue is ?

Looks very nice, but I still don't get why you do all that work BEFORE painting the outside of the car :dunno: Won't all those nice clean parts get covered with dust and overspray :clueless:

ahaha, damn!  Maybe I needed the medium size alternator pulley this whole time??? :stirpot:

Thanks anlauto!  I suspected those might work right.

the issue with the shifter mechanism is that my shifter has two holes in it that I suspect are for bolts to go through so you don't rip the shifter out while you're shifting.  The mechanism that I have doesn't have two bolt holes in it.  Instead, its a slide-in style with what seems like a rubber boot and thin metal thing in it that apparently is made to pinch the shifter maybe.  Well the pistol grip handle I have won't slide in without a ton of force, and even then only goes halfway in.  I guess i'm just trying to figure out how to make all of this work.

Oh yeah, and i'm not painting the car right now cause I'm temporarily outta dough...

Hi Duff, in case you go this route...  I received mine from Amazon and installed it.  So far it works just fine.  The picture shows the correct plug but it came with just bare wires.  Keep your plug if you have it.

Installed radiator, new oil dipstick tube, tti exhaust (which fit great and looks even better), and 20 other things i'm forgetting...  oh yeah, dash, etc.

I'm a bit stumped on my clutch setup though.  I push the pedal down and it sticks to the floor.  anyone have reference pics on this or some advice?  I've got all new z bar parts, clutch parts, etc.
