    I like it the way it is.  I'm sure it will look nice completed but I would drive it as it stands.  That is probably what I am going to do with mine.  I need to save for the paint.

    Looking good man - definitely enjoy the drive and you should be proud of where the car stands only after 6 months  :22yikes:

    Holy crap!  Looks great Duff...  was not long ago (at all) that I could see the ground through most of the car...  amazing job!

    If you are heading out to Cali in April...  stop at Mopars at the strip on the way...  or at least be here for the Spring Fling.  I'll be at both and I HAVE to see the car.

    Thanks guys, but the congratulations came too soon....

    Did a very small amount of warming up the car, then drove a few miles, then...

    Rear main seal leak, and when I turn the car to one side it brakes pretty hard.  OUch. 

    What I found out: 

    My prebought Right stuff Detailing front disc brake conversion kit includes two brake lines that go from the caliper to the body connection on the car.  These have about a 2" piece of hard line coming off the banjo connection on the caliper, and that 2" piece hits the a-arm.  In addition to this, both of the brake lines are too short, causing them to pinch when I turn the wheel.  Sure I noticed this when I installed them, but a month after it's easy to forget.  The solution to this (via them on the phone) is to buy 69 camaro front disc brake flex lines and install those instead.  The company is well aware of this problem and apparently still just sells the kits, which sucks for guys like me trying to get to Vegas this weekend... 

    So, today i'm in the middle of my oil pan and my brake system hacking it out to try and leave cross country in the morning.  Wish me luck!  And yes 360fish, i'll be back in Hollywood in no time, so i'll be at spring fling and hopefully mopars at the strip as well!

    Rear main seal is in!  I was able to find an old school non pipe cleaner style seal from my engine builders buddy and get it installed last night on my back w the car on jackstands. Btw I found out a but too late that 440 source apparently offers this stuff, and knowing what I know now I'd highly recommend using it.  Everything's back together now and I'll test it today... Crossing my fingers.  Then it's my father and I cross country to Vegas then Hollywood!  Woohoo!  One of my dreams comes true today

    Made it back to Hollywood!  The car ran okay but I definitely had some issues...

    1.  The car vibrates terribly starting at 70 mph.  I did have the driveshaft balanced and I balanced the wheels myself, so I'm not quite sure what to do to troubleshoot this.  Ideas anyone?

    2.  The car gets hot.  Seems to run at the top of the acceptable range, but it's very hot, like the carb is super hot to the touch.  The only part that isn't new or rebuilt in the engine bay is the fan clutch, but it moves.  Not sure if this could be it or not.  Thermostat is obv new also. 

    3.  The car doesn't start as well, especially when hot.  Sounds like it missing or has a fouled plug or something.  The car does start right away, but it has to get warm to idle, and it's 80 degrees here. 

    4.  I think the car runs rich.  It was tuned on the dyno in Iowa in a room that was about 55 degrees in the wintertime, and now im at sea level instead of at 1000 ft elevation.  Retune?  I hesitate to because it already was on the dyno, but on the other hand I feel like the carb should be tuned with an o2 sensor in the exhaust maybe.  Thoughts?

     I ran Mastercraft Avengers on a 66 Sport Fury. They did not like balancing weights at all.  Another experiance was balance weight on front of driveline.
      Just some historical thoughts.
