Northwest Carlisle caravan **MAP**
« on: March 03, 2005 - 12:15:46 AM »
Well look like I will be organizing the caravan from the northwest.  So anyone from Wisconson, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and surrounding states are welcome!  I think streetchallenged73 will be coming from North Wisconson and probably be one of the farthest.  I'm sure as time gets near, more details will develope.

I and my brother will be on route from Ohio. Kind of hard to think of cruising, I'm still defrosting right now from outside.

This is going to be great!!!!!!!!!

Pam and I will be heading that way (of course), I do think that except for PistolGripper and us the rest of you guys will be more NW (we are more or less due west)  and our meeting location can be more east than has been the last couple years. You shouldn't have to drive south and then east just to meet up with us, we can "meet" you, DOES ANY OF THIS MAKE SENSE ? At any rate, we will be leaving on Thursday, you can work out a time table from there David, THANKS

Um, huh?
I have to go south then east anyway, right??
Or are you talking about the more northern guys taking more of an "angular" route straight towards the PA line?
I need to look at a map

BB73Challenger,

Where you coming from ?  Last time I went, I met LB at 70 & 75,  WSM before the OH PA border and Cuda Kid east of there,  people coming from all angles  ;D

All over the place huh?
I'm right on the lake up here - when I say I'm in Cleveland, I mean I'm in Cleveland.
So without backtracking any, I'd take 77 straight down to 70. If I was to go back to 75 I would have to cut back east of the state of Ohio.

So as it stands right now - I'm taking 77 south to 70 east. Now our Michigan brothers, I don't know if they are going down 75 or going to take 80 across the north??

We will all meet at different point off the Ohio Turnpike!  I will be traveling down 75 until I hit the turnpike which is where I assume PG, WSM, LB and Street and I will hook up.  Then its a straight shot to Carlsile. Last year some went 70 all the way to the turnpike and I believe this year we are just using the 80 turnpike that runs from Chicago to Carlisle.  So post what intersection you access the turnpike and thats about where we will meet!

It appears that the simplist meeting arrangements would be along the Pa. turnpike which in my case would be at the intersection of I70 east. Now Pistol Gripper and BB73 Challenger may want to meet me somewhere before that. BB73 Challenger I live just south of Dover/New Philadelphia so we can meet around there or we can meet near the WVa. line too because that is where we have  met LB and the others before and it is just a few miles from our "other" location. Clear as mud? I'll send you a pm to clarify BB73, OK?

OK - looks like Ravage and me will meet WSM down in the Dover area.
I can't remeber, does Pistol Gripper live in between us? Will we pick him up in our travel or will he meet us at WSM?
We are getting there, I've got more of an idea of what's going on than I did a month ago  :grinyes:

OK We have about 2 weeks until the big show and I was wondering if any of the members want to join in on the Caravan from the WI, Ill, Mi, Ohio or Ind. areas want to join in??   We will be leaving early Thursday morning and traveling the Ohio turnpike most of the way to Carlisle.  A better schedule to follow.

I would love to join everyone in the caravan, but early thursday morning doesnt make sense for me. I live about 6 hours away from carlisle, so I usually just leave at 2-3 A.M. on saturday and get there around nine o'clock. Depending on what time the caravan will be crossing my town, I might just meet up with everone and cruise for an hour and turn around. Just would like to be part of a bunch of e-bodies driving together on the highway......

ummmm  Killer . . . is Sunday the only day you are coming to Carlisle??  Actually I think we are going to the show Friday and Saturday and leaving for home on Sunday!  Hard to tell how long it will take me since last year I waiting for a couple hours for the group.  I do know its exactly 500 miles.  I'm still thinkin' 7 or 8 hours . . .  anyway, we will want to arrive in Carlisle at a reasonable time on Thursday so we can organize everything and meet all the other members!!  Let me know when you plan on attending!!

It definately makes more sense for the "northern" members from this region of the caravan to take 80 right on over to the Pa. turnpike, and the "central" guys like Pistol Gripper and me to travel 70 east to meet the rest of you at a point on the Pa. turnpike. With the price of gas I wouldn't expect anyone to go out of their way and add a couple hundred miles to their trip. We just need to arrange the location and aprox. time for that meeting. Agreed ?
