New UR Dash Pad Pics

Do the rivets come black, or do you have to paint after installing?
Are the rivets supposed to be black?

At what point do you apply the Chrysler transfer?

The rivets that I got came with a black finish.  I drilled my VIN plate off, cleaned and repainted it, applied the transfer, then pop riveted it back on the pad.  This was all done with the dash pad out of the car.

Finally getting around to installing my Dashpad purchased from Dave.  I've been crazy busy at work, but now have some breathing room.

Anyway, someone mentioned a ways back in this thread about needing to re-drill some holes.  I ran into the same problem with my center speaker, but that was no big deal. 

On the other hand, my AC vent(s) seem way off.  I've trimmed as much vinyl and foam as I dare, and it still is off by 1/4"

Seems like I need to trim about 1/4" off the metal frame to allow the vent to shift up, and then I'll probably have to re-drill those holes as well.

Is this typical?  I know it's sheetmetal and foam, so maybe this is as good as it gets.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

they are generally tight to get in, if you need to re-position the holes then thats what i would do.

Quick Update,

Got my dashpad from Dave at Roseville. Its installed in the car and looks great.
There were some problems with the initial pad and it had to be replaced. Dave took care of all the details with UR and got me the replacment pad. If you are considering getting a dash pad I would highly recommend going through Dave and not going to UR directly.

My dashpad from Dave suppose to be shipped in two weeks. That will give me about a week to put it back before a June 2 show in the Bay Area. This schedule does not allow for any problem. Hope for the best.

I am hoping it is an isolated case but I ordered a black pad and recieved a pad done in red vinyl painted black.
 That wasn't acceptable.

received 8 pads in last week, 2 have minimal issues. I can go either way on, the other 6 are nice.  issues are hit and miss and are a head ache to deal with sometimes. But i demand a good product for my customers and hold them accountable.

Sure would be nice if UR would test fit each one they make to a metal dash frame w/all the parts/pieces to ensure fittment and recurring problem areas.  This would save them time/money/headaches from shipping them back and forth to the dealers.

Too much to ask I guess.

Yeah it was a bit of a hassle but Dave took care of it and the pad I have now is far better.

I want a 1971 Dashpad...  can anyone confirm it will bolt up in a 1970 car? ....  Dave I will send you an email as this is an old topic...   I have vintage ac  but hate the plastic add-ons vent they give you
