2002 mustang gt, looks clean in my rearview
« on: November 26, 2012 - 09:28:28 PM »
So my brother in law was visiting this weekend and he drives a 02 mustang GT with BBK intake and magnaflow exhaust, we were out talking about the cars and he was talking about how much faster new cars are than older ones.  I agreed that factory stock new cars are getting to be ridiculously fast, but his car wasnt one of them.  He laughed and said, "Its still faster than that old hunk of metal you got."  Despite being 50 degrees outside and not wanting to sit through a 10 min warm up period, i said "Lets try 'em out"  So i fired her up and we talked a little trash as she warmed up and when she was ready, i asked "you ready to get ur ass kicked by a 40 year old car with a puny little smallblock?"  he nodded and we headed out to the local "unofficial drag strip."  I got my tires warm and we lined up.   He counted it off and we took off.  I had him right off the bat, (he's not much with a 5spd) by the time my 727 hit 2nd gear i had 1/2 a car between my rear bumper and the front of his, and as my 340(11:1, big cam, warmed over j heads, air gap intake and 750 holley) climbed through second gear he lost more ground, i let off around 75 and he pulled up even and shook hit head at me.  we headed back to the house where i rubbed it in his face the rest of thanksgiving! haha  turkey day was a good day

Thanks!  it actually got a little hail damage this past summer so its due into the body shop in 2 weeks, its getting 2006 viper copperhead (PVE) and a few weeks ago i scored a T/A hood, also just got a set of weld rodlites from a good friend of mine who's upgrading, so they will do until i can afford a 5spd/full hotchkis/18's all the way around......what can i say, im a dreamer hahah

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.
