Passed15% ethanol---will damage older cars AAA warning
« on: December 01, 2012 - 11:09:16 PM »
AAA warning 15% will damage older cars......
Ethanol burns hotter than gasoline damaging catalytic converters faster.
Politicians allow 15% ethanol win so the ethanol industry won't lose its generous goverment subsidies.

Then go hide in a government bunker when everything goes to hell.  Big daddy gov is getting too big for his britches. The fall is a long one and a hard one. Hey at leat that Gas station pump sign was nice enough to warn the pumper. Wave hand.... This is not the gas your looking for.

It's not about whether you're right or wrong.

It's about the negativity thread like these and others previously are that are Politically related.

I don't and many others here don't come here to rant & rave about problems in today's society and Politics.
Let it go or become a Politician!   :2cents:

Still it's just negativity.
We all have enough of it each day to deal with. And he pointed a finger that it's politically related.

That wasn't necessary.
Perhaps some members here ought to take a career in Politics to try and change these issues instead of complaining!.

That is the point of his thread I cannot seem to get happy positive about a group of buearcrats scheming to eliminate or damage my pride and joy through Ridiculous Political Regualations. Leave my Barracuda alone!! Personally, I don't give a rats-ass about politicians. What I care about is thier political worldview and character. If thier goal is to grow a monstrous, smothering government, no matter what the cost... a government that will take our property and our liberty and, thereby, enslave us... a government that will, ultimately, collapse of its own excess, then I'm not your biggest fan… regardless of race.

Brad .... check PetroCanada pumps.   I think that they use about 10% or up to 15% ethanol????   I have been using 94 Octane in my 440 from the same.   I wonder if I am doing it a disfavour?

Is there additives you can use to reduce the harmful effects Ethanol can do?

:iagree:  Let's keep it away from the politics and focus on the issues related to engines...  :2cents:

So pardon my ignorance, how does the increae alcohol content effect engines, especially small engines like lawnmowers and yard blowers.

I know the seals in the carbs on our cars will dry out but how does it effect small engines?

Brad, don't you work with small engines and such?  How does this effect them?  :clueless:

I think it causes a heat issue that weakens components as well as the gasket seals issues.

My car won't run on "94" I think they use more ethenol to get their octane rating. Shell premium has no ethenol. Car runs fine on it.
