just bought a 1970 Challenger project
« on: December 04, 2012 - 08:11:07 PM »
Hi everybody, just bought myself a 70 Challenger 318 V8 auto column shift car with factory A/C and bench seats. original colour was FY1 Lemon twist

Solid car with no rust apart from the trunk floor that has the usual rust, she runs just, so i am deciding what to do with, i think the GM hubcaps will be the first to go!! One family owned California car still with the blue plates. A few dents and dings

So i will be sniffing around for parts and advice over the next few months.

Very nice score. Not many bench seat with column shifter cars made. Keep us posted on the project and check our "for sale" section for parts. A lot of folks here will let parts go to another Mopar lover for very decent prices!!

It looks like you bought a pretty solid car, I looking forward to some restoration photos. I think it would look better in its original Top Banana/ Lemon Twist color.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Congrats
Why would someone paint an FY1 car that hideous blue? Nevertheless, great find.  I see the Union Jack on your post and "Culver City" in the background.  Are you in SoCal or the UK? A NorCal member just askin'

The dumpster says "Athens sanitation".  And Athens, California is close to culver city.  That combined with the good ole "Smog check" logo on the sign makes me thing California
