Then the other thing to do is remove the brake pads so the rotors don't wear.

Yep!  then screw the pads to the bottom of your shoes, cut out the floor then " Fred Flintstone" yourself up to the stop signs! 
Failing that you can drill a say 1" hole thru the floor and driveshaft then slid your lug nut wrench in there to stop.... wear gloves though! ( just sayin....)

And, for what it's worth, this car appears to have ABS, you can see the sensor lead in several of the photos.

Mike, you shoulda put caliper slide grease on the corners of the pads so they don,t hang up. I
won't even mention not machining the rotors. 

YUP,MEK,you should have geased up the inside of the stainless steel anti-rattle slide brackets,your pads will either stick or wear unevenly if you don't.also should have greased the slide calipers bolts also.............
