Insanely bad customer service
« on: December 10, 2012 - 05:47:17 PM »

I thought I'd rant a bit because I see a theme here in Moparland whereas a good deal of folks selling stuff have this arrogance about them when selling their wares. Regardless of what they have and what price they have set they believe they can basically call you an idiot and you still have to buy from them.

My recent experience with PGclassics where they shipped me the wrong item and I had to pay for return shipping was a real hoot. Just today I got off the phone with columbiaparts and he said he has to charge high prices on anything thats listed on ebay because there are so many idiots he has to charge that amount. Btw, his price was about double what others charged, besides his phone manners were really lacking.

Am I the only one seeing this crap? What happened to good customer service?

Haven't noticed a trend myself, but when you get bad customer service, it's good to post it here so people know what they may be getting into if they do business with them.  :2cents:

As far as buying on E-Bay, the seller is stuck paying the E-Bay fees for the ad, plus a percentage of the selling price. Then Paypal will hit him again with another fee.

I can see where they would list their prices a little higher in this case.

As far as PGClassic is concerned, I've had mixed results. Their parts are made in China, so go figure.   :o

The last item I bought from them was a six-way seat track. It would immediately flip me backwards whenever I nailed the gas.   :screwy:

Needless to say, that transaction didn't go well.

Buy from forum vendors, like Roseville, and you won't have those problems.  :2thumbs:

Unfortunately sometimes Dave doesn't have all the parts you need.

For instance I need/found a 70 Cuda Non-AC vent - Dave doesn't have that.

Limited supply + mopar pricing = idiot sellers with a bad attitude

 :aarg:

I tried Columbia & PG classics before and do what I can to avoid them based on experiences in the past.

If you want to buy on e Bay, try Hoovers Auto Parts. Also try Dave at Roseville.

Year One is expensive shipping and not that fast to the West Coast.

Classic Industries is closer to us out here (the equivalent of Year One for the West Coast)
RPS Restoration source is in Hayward. Tony is decent CS but follow up on special orders.
The Mopar Shop (Ed) is in Madera near Fresno.
Mega Parts has a nice cache of inventory as well.

Gotta source/qualify a little more Bryan and not pull the trigger so fast.   :2cents:
I rarely have issues but it took a while to learn who I go to and who to avoid.

Which piece are you referring to? I agree i may not have everything But i can probably point in the right direction if i cant get it.  We have 5,263 items listed on our website as of today. Somethings drop off from time to time and it is hard to catch.
So if your poking around and dont see it let me know and i can give you the skinny on it.

I have heard mixed things on PG.

Dave

I bought both my door panels and rear panels for my Cuda from you and after looking at them I'm very happy with them.

I was looking for a NON-AC Heater Vent for a 1970 Cuda but those are not being reproduced so I doubt you would have them. I actually found a vent and bought it - thank god!

I am looking for a 70 Cuda heater Jhook if you know where one is I'm all ears or if you reproduce them I'd gladly buy it from you.

Thanks,
Bryan

p.s. Mike thanks for the advice but sometimes you find out on your own as not everyone lets you know about certain vendors until it's too late.

If I'm buying something site unseen. I only buy it ( 99% of the time) from Dave at Roseville. I trust him and he has never let me down. He knows who has the best quality! I buy quality over price.  If I need something Dave doesn't have then I wait till Carlisle and get it there, where I can hold it in my hands and look at it first?
Just my  :2cents:

I'm sure there are other good vendors out there but I stick with what I know?

Dave

Already have the cables, if you find a jhook let me know otherwise I'm just going to fabricate one.

Anyone have a good picture with dimensions for one and how it mounts inside the box?

Thanks,
Bryan
