Not a bad start at all, the car is a original 41,000 mile car. Someone repainted this thing back in the early 80's, and recovered the seats maybe in the last 5-10 years and they have been wrapped up ever since.

ohh maaaaaan... haha. yes, I am wore out from the last project. I said I would take a year off and enjoy my AAR.. but I cant even drive it and now it's winter! I'll continue to tear down this beast to it's shell. I will do what I can on the car except for body and paint, thats where I am lost and I am way too picky to start learning and do it myself- I will stick to building jewelry. My friend Bobo at http://www.mendezmotorsports.com/ will hopefully get the engine and new intake over the winter. He did my AAR 340 and it runs great. This interior was recovered a long time ago, I hope it cleans up though, it is kind of yellowed or dirty. Who will do the body and paint remains to be seen. I am leaning toward Ken again to do a "driver" quality job on it. I am afraid though that when it gets to his place, I will get the itch to go to the top with the paint job. You can stare at every car in that place and not find any issues with the paint jobs.. his painter Kevin Engle is a master in my eyes. At least I will know exactly what to expect there. I will have the body blasted at a place in IL called Ready Strip. The cars I have seen that come out of there are super clean and completely bare when done. I'll end up restoring most of the other components to the car, dash, column, heater box, interior, suspension, etc. (I may be getting a small building with a friend of mine right near my house) so I will have a lot more room to work over the winter and can exclude my kitchen and living room as workspace this time around (man it's great to live alone) haha. My friend is removing the front and back glass for me next week after he finishes up my dads GTO ( a side project that I have been doing a mild resto on this entire time) I am going insane with cars.. on top of all of this, I am overseeing a entire resto on my buddies 69 Charger R/T!! (black, whit top, white guts car) his dad bought new in Nam. So I guess I love doing this stuff! (way more fun when it is not your money flying everywhere) haha. Watching my friends Charger being welded on, gave me the damn itch to do this all over again and here I am. Thanks for the AAR compliments! You will see her next month at your local news stand on the cover of MCG! March issue! I also struck up a deal to be featured in Collectible Automobile Magazine! They are working on a COOL project for 2014, I wont reveal what it is, but it involves a certain E body- a bunch of em!

wow, you have a nicely optioned car there. I have a question, my car is a R11 radio, but it also has a rear fader knob on the lower left dash panel by the heater controls. I see you have a code for "single rear speaker".. is there a code for rear speaker on a AM? Just curious if it would be on my fender tag. I plan on driving this car, but I love following what is correct on the tag, but would like the FM guts in the AM down the road, or even a 8 track would be cool, so I am wondering if this was a rear speaker car because of the knob, or if it was added later.. I wonder if I can tell by the wire loom.. haven't checked under there really. Hope a build sheet is somewhere in this thing..

A little progress. I knew there would be problem areas under the vinyl top. Common I am sure, looks a little messy, but I know it can be fixed.
Pulled the hood, stainless, v top, wiper linkage and the date coded 3 speed! Was happy to find that on the car.

took a ride down to Kens shop yesterday. There are always awesome, rare cars there..
That Challenger with the sublime strip is a 1 of 1 car, alls has green interior. The orange TA Chall, is a driver quality build which still looks
like a killer car when done. That plum convert is 1 of 4, HEMI 4 speed! I kept staring at it dreming about my beast looking similar.. that car is there just for cosmetic buffing to the paint i think. The primer Charger, thats a B5 with blue interior HEMI Charger 500. Then there is a Sassy 71 Cuda, 340 billboard car that is getting a top notch resto job. Oh, and I cant forget the 69 Trans Am convert.. haha.. a zillion dollar car getting the works. 1 of 8???
