6.1L into B-body

Not an E-Body but my 68 Charger.  just a teaser pic - just finishing up the installation.

Well I could be selfish and ask for the wiring harness, but lots of guys are doing hydro boost saps(which I am too)

The Hydroboost was the easiest thing...       I got a rebuilt unit off a friend for free (Chevy Astro I believe) and ordered a mounting plate / socket from Talon hydraulics. I went to earls and got the fittings I needed as well as the Lines. 

Bouchillon Performance was the source for the GenIII Hemi P/S pump fitting to -6AN. I made a fitting for my P/S gear box. Details given below.

These fittings allowed for the entire P/S hydroboost system to use AN fittings.

Finally got around to that (adapting a P/S box fitting)...   

I went with a -6AN x 1/2-20 for the pressure line and I believe a -6AN x 11/16-18 for the return...      this is the one that needs to be drilled out for the relief spring so protrude into...     




After Drilling...   



The drilling was done on a typical drill press - nothing exotic...    then I just drilled down as deep as i needed....     I measured the depth of the old fitting and found it is goes until about the mating surface between the fitting and the pump itself...      so I drilled the new fitting accordingly...     not rocket science.

Home brew wiring harness is not for everyone but it sure looks like he did a very nice job with it. We use the Hot wire harness and do a control box from a 2005 RAM (without SKIM). If you want any furhter information give a call. Dave Weber 276-666-1934

^ Dave speaks the truth -  home made wiring harnesses are not for everyone.  I have been doing automotive electrical for numerous years - and the harnesses need to be made on a case by case basis depending on engine, transmission, and accessories.

The EASIEST way would be the Hot Wire harness...     I relied on them for my PCM reflash as well -  GREAT guys to deal with.

Hey Dave I'm getting real close to pulling th e plug and buying your harness and PCM kit , but was wondering what radiator hoses you use for your radiator also? Thanks in advance and ill call when I get my taxes!

The hoses I have used were simply a trip to the local parts store with measurements and a wire pattern in hand, Went through what they had on rack and even if it ment scrapping a 3 foot hose to find a preformed section for what I wanted, that is what I did. Not very scientific but it is one way to get it done. I did save some Gates numbers from some past projects but will have to dig for them.

Yeah, that is a pretty busy schedule. 

Well, I like the hydro-boost (you sent me basics on that but would like a detail how to and years of cars parts came from, I already have the new m/c.  What yr chevy astro, mounting plate/ socket from Talon electronics (do they have a part # on it?).  Did you have to change the m/c pushrod or how does that work?  Did you need to drill any additional holes or do any custum hook up to the brake pedal

Definitely would like to know how you did the wiring harness, etc for a hemi conversion.

I can't remember off hand what other mods you did.

my hydroboost was a 1993 application IIRC

U got a assortment of pushrods with mine (from my friend who rebuilt it) and used the appropriate length one to put the brake pedal even with the clutch pedal. (always hated the power brake pedal being lower than the clutch)

I removed the hydroboost pushrod later on because it was too long for the master cylinder I was using. I turned it down on my mini=lathe down to the appropiate length. (mine was changed to a longer pushrod when it was rebuilt)

I then used the banjo fittings and AN fittings for the plumbing.

I did not have to drill any holes in my brake pedal.
