Long Distance Phone Call From A Friend
« on: December 14, 2012 - 08:12:34 AM »
Last Sunday afternoon my Caller ID indicated a phone call from a faraway land (there were more than ten numbers).  Upon answering the call, a husky deep voice replied back with a “Hello.”

Too cool, it was my buddy Bart (aka “Dutch”) calling from the Netherlands (aka Holland).  :ylsuper:
We’ve done a bunch of PMing over the past three years, but never an actual phone call.

Of course we had a pretty lengthy conversation about our Cudas.  I’m still very impressed with Bart’s craftsmanship and attention to detail; be it his Cuda or garage door mural, or whatever he creates.  Bart still requires a windshield and a few minor parts to be road worthy.  Then the Cuda faces the Dutch car inspection; not an easy inspection to pass.

Bart told me more about his job working at a Porsches dealership and working on Porsche racecars. I told him about my never ending chore raking of leaves (not quite as exciting as working on Porsches).

We covered other more mundane subjects like the weather, posted highway speeds and how we both obey them, health issues, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Anyway, you get to meet the nicest people here on CC.com.  This is a little testimonial to that fact.

hey Ron,  it was nice to finally get a chance to talk some overseas mopar bs    still looking forward to some pics of your car for my new 20x30' mural LOL..!   well ... winter is here ( although we`re getting a bunch of rain this weekend) so all roads are white with salt  :P,  but it looks like I can get me a new windshield before the year ends  :jumping:  Tech inspection isnt that big a deal, all stuff that`s on the car has to work the way it`s supposed to and that`s it  :2thumbs:
Them race porsches are nice to wake up with in the morning... test running 700hp boxer 6 cyl. indoors is almost as good as a big V8  :grinyes:  Most cars I work on are old 356`s and 911`s though. Feeling kinda lonely being the only mopar guy there  :1zhelp:

I made a few new friends on cc too. Great bunch of guys on here
