If anyone wants to help families in general, you can collect the pull tabs from your soda cans. The Ronald McDonald house collects those and turns them in for money. I'm sure there is a Ronald McDonald house near a lot of you. I remember collecting the tabs way back when I was in school. I think the Memphis house collected over $17,000 in pull tabs in 2011.
The hospital really made today fun for Owen. The woman who gives him a new registration bracelet every morning had a birthday card waiting for him. His radiation nurses sang him the Happy Birthday song and had a few little toys for him. Then his main clinic sang to him again, got him some balloons and threw confetti at him.
Owen is saving the rest of the confetti to throw at the dog when he gets home.
