I have been keeping an eye on this thread, so know that there are more people than has replied that have your family in their thoughts!  I have a three year old daughter that has CP and has since she was born.   While my circumstances are different, I feel like we probably have had some similar thoughts and experiences.  If you ever need anyone to talk to, don't hesitate to get a hold of me.

Wishing the best for your boy and hope you all have a great Christmas!

Owen is home!  He is still very scared since he can't see very well and his incisions are hurting.  The only thing we are giving him for the pain is Tylenol which I think is crazy.  He had brain surgery three times in a week and he's home on nothing but Tylenol.

Great to hear the young laddie is home! With all he's gone through in the last few days, of course he'll be trying to regain his bearings and my wife, the paed's nurse, tells me that barbituates are not good for youngsters if not absolutely necessary. It's easy to say, but try to concentrate on the fact that he's home and better than he left. Santa gave you both, a very big present. Here's to his rapid recovery.  :2thumbs:

I guess my above post sounded like I think he should be on other meds.  That's not what I meant.  I just think it's awsome how modern medicine has grown and a child can have brain surgery an not need anything but over the counter drugs so soon afterword.

Although he cannot see well, I'm sure you can fill him with Christmas music and cheer!

LOTS of smiles this afternoon!  He's becoming himself again little by little.  Once the stitches on his stomach stop hurting and when his kneck isn't so stiff, things will be a lot better.  Right now he's upset that he can't go outside and play.

This is the kid who hobbled around for three days after getting a shot in his leg....The kid who got a tiny cut on his hand and his whole arm became unusable for two days.  Now he's stitched up all over the place and he's handling it surprisingly well.
